Choosing Colours Guide (featuring Cobalt Blue)

As we have done in previous years, we’ve created a tutorial to guide you in picking colour combinations based off of the year’s Pantone Colour of the Year. For 2020, the colour is Classic Blue so we’ve selected one of our favourite blue materials, our Cobalt Blue Chunky, as the base for these combinations. See our previous year’s here: 2018 and 2019.

Materials to Use: Starry Night

These colours remind one of the great artwork by Van Gogh. The Cobalt Chunky serves as the night sky, the Honeycomb Glimmer the paint-swirled stars, and the Turquoise Solid balances out the palette as the treeline.

Materials to Use: Cloudy Days

This monochrome combination works easily together with the different shades of blue. The range of textures and shades work harmoniously together for a calming palette.

Materials to Use: Galactic Glimmer

This palette would be great for anything space-related! Some Blueberry Glimmer planets with a ring of Cobalt Chunky and some Pastel Purple stars to finish off would be perfect.

Materials to Use: Cowboy Blues

This combination is vibrant and fun, and would be perfect for something funky that you want to stand out from the crowd. The busy glitter and pattern foils are balanced out with the solid acrylic.

Materials to Use: Melon-Choly

The Orange and Blue complement each other in both colour and texture, and the Pink Mirror adds a little extra pop to this fruity palette.

Materials to Use: Citrus Twist

This palette is a sparkly fiesta of colour suitable for any party piece. The bright glitters are matched well with the vibrant Amber Solid.
